A Man Called Ove by Fredrik Backman
I am on the waiting list at the local library for a copy of A Man Called Ove. But, my friend Christal was ahead of me in the queue so after she finished reading it she loaned it to me. Our library has a really long checkout period which is nice because sometimes you come home with a book that you really wanted to read when you pulled it off of the shelf but by the time you get home it’s not what you really, really want to read, like right this second. It also gives you plenty of time to read a book and then loan it to a friend who also wants to read the book but doesn’t want to wait until 43 other people finish reading the book. Anyway, I’m starting Ove now and I’m going to share my thoughts as I go.
I am on page 4 and I am in love. In love with grouchy Ove. In love with the poor sap that had to wait on him at the Apple store. In love with Fredrik Backman. That’s a lot of love for 4 pages.
Page 7. Ove is the sort of man who checks the status of all things by giving them a good kick.
